Although, there are many different aspects to the entire issue, let's focus solely upon a singular factor. Historically, when a mother doesn't wish to raise her child, she may send him to an orphanage, or, a home for children. It often costs nearly 1,000 dollars per month for State/government Care-giving. Yet, the mother has no financial obligation.
Conventional wisdom says that [men had the power in relationships, during the 1940's & 1950's]. Yet, such depictions of a dominant female never escaped public mainstay. Indeed, it was considered entertaining to most. Therefore, given an overall approval by male & female alike. In other words, the overall status of women is portrayed with a sense of dignity. There's a distinct form of social empowerment, which transcends any political issue.
It would be difficult to keep track of the infinite campaigns which celebrate womanhood. Does anyone remember the "Super-Mom" from the late 1980's ? Indeed, one decade before Lilith Fair claimed to be the 1st to help women. And, as you already know, there have been countless similar examples. Whether this includes in-depth studies, all becomes trivial. MRM could list a thousand typical cases, which always claimed to show unique concern toward 'Women's Rights'. But now, we know better. Simply look to the recent past, which shows extra concern for her-sake.
